Meet Nataliya Ilkiv

Chicago-based artist working in screen printing and painting. Born and raised in Ukraine, her practice is grounded in Unbroken Threads, an ongoing body of work that draws from traditional embroidery patterns passed down through her grandmother’s handwork, examining Ukrainian textile traditions as systems of cultural memory, identity, and visual language.

Through layered print processes and hands-on material experimentation, she reinterprets these inherited textile motifs into contemporary abstract compositions that feel structured, tactile, and intuitive.

Her work includes large-scale installations and commissioned pieces held in private collections in Chicago and New York, as well as contributions to fundraising and institutional initiatives supporting Ukraine.
