Ukrainian Soldier

Maksym Orel

We are coming together to support a Ukrainian soldier, Maksym Orel, whose life was changed while defending his country. After sustaining severe injuries and undergoing 43 surgeries so far, he now faces a long and uncertain road of medical treatments and rehabilitation.

Donating ensures Maksym can continue receiving everything he urgently needs after sacrificing everything for freedom. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings him closer to healing and hope. Thank you for standing with Maksym.

GoFundMe

My name is Maksym Orel.

During a combat mission, my unit fell into an ambush.

One bullet destroyed my L-5 vertebra and damaged my intestines —

and my life changed forever.

Since then, I’ve undergone 43 surgeries in Ukraine, Germany, and the United States. And I am still fighting.

Today my biggest threat is a 4MRGN life threatening infection —

that requires continuous care, and the only available treatment is here in the United States. Without the financial means to maintain healthcare coverage, I will lose access to the rehabilitation center and have nowhere else to go. I am seeking support through GoFundMe to help cover healthcare insurance and medical expenses so I can continue receiving the care I require to survive. Any contribution directly helps ensure I have a safe place to receive treatment.

I am fully willing to provide photos and videos documenting how all funds are allocated toward medical care and insurance.

The foundation can no longer support my care, and now I must continue this fight on my own.

Thank you for supporting my mission in saving my life it means more than words can say- thank you so much.

Art in Service of Ukraine

When Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, my art took on a new purpose. In the face of devastation and loss, I decided to use my work as a direct form of action—turning creativity into humanitarian aid.

In July 2022, I created an art collection dedicated to Ukraine and donated 100% of the proceeds to support those affected by the war. With the funds raised from the art show and additional donations, I personally traveled to Poland and worked alongside Uniters Foundation, a humanitarian organization supporting Ukrainian refugees. Together, we distributed aid and purchased food for displaced women and children. The remaining funds were used to acquire medical supplies and drones for Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines. These resources were transported directly from Poland into Ukraine by train.

In 2023, I organized another art show with the same mission: every dollar raised went directly to supporting Ukrainian troops. This time, I traveled into Ukraine myself, ensuring the funds were personally distributed toward critical needs—medicine, tactical equipment, and drones—delivered straight to those defending their country.

To this day, we continue to sell art prints, jewelry, and other creative works from the United States, using every possible medium to raise funds and provide ongoing support for Ukrainian troops.

These images document what art can become when paired with purpose. Each painting represents more than expression—it represents food for a child, medicine for a wounded soldier, and support for those risking their lives for freedom. My work is a reminder that even in the darkest times, creativity can become a lifeline, and one person’s passion can help carry hope across borders.
